I am so proud of you !!! Myself having a son that almost died at 3 months old from the RSV virus,stayed on full life support for 32 days and is autistic as a result of this intubation..i CAN imagine the pain that parents go through with a sick child..i only got a small dose of that ..and the autism is forever..i can't tell you how much it means to me that you take this so seriously as your motivation..of course besides your family & yourself... i am in tears typing this b/c i am so proud of you !!!i KNOW how tough its been for you..and reading this you touched my heart... thank you Laura...with every ounce of me..thank you !!! not just for my son...for every single child out there that their meds and services take every penny their family has..leaving none for a trip to disney or a vacation to show them the world isnt always full of pain and heart ache
Make a Wish, is in my opinion, the most wonderful organization out there..its hard for others to imagine what the day to day life is like as the parent of a child tht isnt 'normal' in one way or another...the parent that looks into their childs eyes and sees pain and fear..its the hardest thing this world can give you..but you know what? it forces you to see the world and yourself in a totally different way..my son is not only autistic but has sickle cell also...its a constant balancing act..but i wouldnt change a thing about him !!! except take his pain away..he is the most wonderful,goofy,silly,funny,smart and handsome little boy !
