    NAGC publishes Pre-K-Grade 12 Gifted Program Standards to provide guidance in many key areas for programs serving gifted and talented students. The standards were created in 1998 and revised in 2010.

    That is a great way to make sure there is better programming out there for gifted students. It has always bothered me that there is so much emphasis on standards and guidelines that always felt like maximum standards to me. Someone needs to make sure the sky is the limit for even the brightest kids. I'm sure that is - like many things - easier said than done, but it surely should at least be the goal.
