BETTY WOOLUM OCEANA, W.Va. August 6, 2004 - Betty Lea Woolum, 72, of Oceana, passed away Friday, August 6, 2004 at 6:30 p.m. at her residence. Born March 7, 1932, at Verner, she was a daughter of the late Lee and Orpha Browning Walls. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell Woolum; one infant daughter, Danetta Woolum, and one sister, Opal Lester. Mrs. Woolum was a homemaker and a member of the Family Praise and Worship Center at Oceana. Survivors include two daughters, Diana (Rev. Ravin) Kenneda of Coal Mountain and Lori (Dean) Lawrence of Oceana; two sons, Stanley (Sherry) Woolum and Marty (Gail) Woolum, both of Oceana; six brothers, Lowell Walls of Christian, Ardell (Marie) Walls of Verner, Danny (Bonnie) Walls and Arley (Audarene) Walls, both of Oceana, Darrell Walls of Lynco and Jimmy (Frankie) Walls of Beckley; one sister, Florence Cline of Charleston; one half-sister, Hazel Morgan of Coal Mountain; seven grandchildren, Darren (Toni) Kenneda, Karen (Jackie) Taylor, Joni, Jacob and Kelli Woolum and Nicholas and Emilee Lawrence; one great-grandchild, Nataley Woolum; one step-grandson, Larry (Sherry) Hendricks, and one step-great-grandson, Ethan Hendricks. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today, August 10, 2004, at the Family Praise and Worship Center in Oceana with the Rev. Timmy Brewster, Rev. David Johnson and Rev. Randall Staton officiating. Burial will follow at the Palm Memorial Gardens at Matheny.
