    What in the world.....?

    1990

I believe that I had to be about 10 or 11 years old when I first met Pastor Bryant. My first memory of Pastor was when my mother had dedicated her life to the Lord. I remembered being in the audiance of True Holiness Deliverance Tabernalce, previously named Jacksonville Tabernacle of Prayer. My mother was at the front of the church at the alter and she started crying and praising God. Of course, this was a foreign experience to me and of course I was thinking "what in the world is she doing to my mother." But of course, praising God and understanding things of the spirit quickly followed and well, 17 years later and many experiences and memories later, I have a full understanding of what was happening. So there you have it folks and the rest is history..... :)

    I PRAY

    1-3-2008

May today be all that you need it to be today. May the peace of God and the freshness of the Holy Spirit rest in your thoughts, rule in your dreams tonight and conquer all your fears.
May God manifest himself today in ways that you have never experienced.
May your joys be fulfilled, your dreams be closer and your prayers be answered.
    I pray that faith enters a new height for you; I pray that your territory is enlarged;
I pray that you step into your destiny within your ministry.
I pray for peace, health, happiness and true and undying love for God.
    For you....I PRAY.

Overseer Bryant, I admire you alot and hope to follow in your footsteps one day. You are a powerful woman of God. Growing up as a young lady I remember you preaching the word of God so powerful and strong, for a long time. Being the age that I was I should have been bored or even gotten sleepy, but the power of God that was on you and the God that I seen in you made me stay up and pay attention and get something out of the messages that I heard from you. You made it worth while to hear what God was saying to the people and I thank you for that. I also thank you for your powerful anointed son my pastor "James Avery Buie", he is definitely a powerful and anointed man of God. He has encouraged me and taught me alot being under his ministry and I will be behind him every step of the way, as he begins to go higher and to another level I plan to do the same. Through God he has helped make me the woman that I am today. So I thank God for you for having a son that is truly a man of God, appointed and anointed. I Love you and may God continue to bless you each and everyday.

    Dear Pastor,
I love you so much for being our pastor! You go through the THICK and the THIN, but you never give up on us. It is paying off, pastor. Your very first revival this year has changed my life. Just one sermon from you has caused me to look at my whole life and re-evaluate it. I keep the vision of myself as a HOUSE. I see every level, and I'm striving to reach the HOUSE TOP. I will never be the same. It is amazing how one little sermon not from a great televangelist, not in a megachurch, but in our little True Holiness Church can come out and just CHANGE A LIFE, but I truly will never be the same. My relationship with Christ is now of utmost importance in my life. I now value my salvation more than ever. And when I go back to college this semester it will be a whole different scene for me. You can expect great and better things from this Nathan girl. I love you.

    Sis. Nathan's Miracle Testimony

    1979

    Sis. Nathan's Miracle Testimony

In 1979 Janice Dixon, your niece, and I were discussing my adoption. I wasn't sure about my adoption. I was told that my mother was from Brooklyn, but she died after I was born. I was not told anything about a father. I grew up as an only child. Edna Burton, my adoptive mother, gave me the best life possible until she died in 1956. She never saw me enter elementary school. My father, Ulysses Burton, owner of Burton's Funeral Home, married Cleo Alexander and she became my stepmother. She had raised me from the age of eight. I didn't know if I had a birth mother, father or siblings. I had tried but couldn't come up with anything. So I told Janice, "God knows I can't find my mother. He knows that I have given my life over to him. If He wants me to meet my mother, He'll have to send her to me."

Two weeks after that conversation, I received a phone call from Warena Brown, who had known me all her life and lived and played with me. She said she had accidentally met a lady who said she was my mother. She wanted to know if I wanted to meet her. I said yes. In the next sentence she said the lady was right there with her and wanted to talk to me. I told her yes as I sat on the floor of my bedroom. With tears in my eyes I heard her say, "Hello, my angel. I'm so glad to meet you. I told the children about you. I didn't know where you were, but I told them you were out there. Now that God has sent you back to me, my angel, I can go to him in peace."

That summer I met my sisters and brothers, aunts, uncles, and my grandmother in Brooklyn, NY. God granted me a mighty miracle that I decided not to publicize. I did not want all the fame and glory for myself because it would have taken away from the labors of my stepmother, Cleo Alexander Burton, who raised me and my cousin/sister, Patricia Henderson. But it was a great time for me. Both mothers met and embraced each other. I found out I had four brothers and two sisters! I was just glad to have another connection. My family had just enlarged.

I have maintained contact with them ever since. Through my mother I met my grandmother, Beatrice Turne and my father, Michael Turner, who, after my grandmother's death, gave me the Hammond B2 Organ that I donated to my church.

My mother and grandmother have passon on, but I remain in constant contact with my family in New York. We recently had a family reunion in which, to my surprise, they asked me to pray the family prayer. Standing in the center of the circle of my family praying that prayer, made me realize how much my walk with Christ means to all of them. They see me as their hope and lifeline. My life has become an open letter that my family can read and see how Jesus would have them live.

I am so thankful that I am being trained in your ministry, pastor. I am glad that you constantly remind us of how close sin is always near us. You let us know that "church people" are not exempt from "sin", and they often overlook their own sins and look for the sins of others. I sat on that organ in the little green fish market we had and cried so much when your words hit me like a hammer. I thought, "I don't understand why I feel so guilty. I'm supposed to be saved, yet she is definitely talking about me." All I could do was cry it out. You were never wrong. You would pin point our sins and hammer away until you got us all on the altar. Thank you!

I am very humbled by those who indicate they need me, by those who admire my walk with Christ. I feel the least of the least, and I am amazed that words from me can comfort someone. But I know that it is Christ in me doing the drawing and doing all the work. Thank you for leading me in my walk with him. I am forever your servant in Christ.

    Love,
    Minister of Music, Ingrid Nathan
