I would have hung the birthday banner & made a festive table. I would have baked a peach cobbler for you and served it warm with vanilla ice cream. I would have arranged for phone calls from your children. I would have given you something engraved. I would have told you how happy you make me and all the ways I love you.

Instead, I stand closed and almost empty, but for the tree that grows in my soul, nourished by tears of love, brilliant leaves composed of glistening memories. The tree awaits its single bloom that will both instantly appear and die upon my death. For then will we truly be one again.

Today I thought of how every day with you was like Valentine's Day. And I know that today would have been filled not with material things but with the sunshine of our bond. I only knew Tim (Rupert) through the game,but feel i knew the man from his words and actions. Luna my sympathy goes out to you. I wish i had a way to express my condolences to his family. He touched us all. I raise my sword and glass to him..Tim will be missed...by one and all.
