Prof Lance, I must say you made quite the impression upon my parents and I, some 29 years ago, on a Sunday afternoon, when we drove up from Moore to look over the campus. I thought to myself, wow this guy is willing to give up a Sunday afternoon to spend time with us and show me around the campus. Of course, you never stopped impressing me with regards to your willingness to devote time to us students, no matter what we wanted to talk about. Of course I can't forget the first computer course I took with you, Fortran. While it may be forgotten these days, I found it pretty cool back then. It also is the only prgramming course I ever took that I typed up the programs on punch cards. Mighty glad it wasn't Cobol I was taking at that time. May God richly bless you and your family in retirement as He has all these years! Keith Rudolph

As always you get to do everything first and retirement is no exception. Guess that goes with the territory of being the "big brother". Congratulations on your successful career at SNU. You've had the opportunity to touch many lives and I am sure their lives are all better because of it. I know mine is!! Also, now that you have so much extra time, I look forward to your planning our family reunion!!!
Blessings!

Greetings from the Middle East! Thanks for your faithful service to the kingdom!
Although I never had a class with you, as student and later as a staff member when I worked for Admissions, you always had a kind word. Thanks for your interest and encouraging words over the years! Congrats on your retirement! May you greatly enjoy this next part of your journey!
Congratulations

You have taught several members of my family over the years. I'm sure I would miss several members if I tried to list them all. Here are a few, The Cathy (King) Graves, Carliss (King) Hyde, Trean Hyde, Rachel Graves, and others. It was a great pleasure to have you as my calculus teacher. Also, as an athlete I really appreciated everything you did for the the program. You will definitely be missed there at SNU. I really hope that you enjoy your retirement; you have earned it! As a student I only got to take two classes from you and those were in my senior year. I filled that last year with lots of the fun and excitement of college life, but I did not leave enough time for homework. I really appreciated that you let me take several hours for your exams even though I should have only needed an hour. During each exam I started from the theorems that I had memorized and had to work through what I should have been learning all along. As your brother-in-law I have always been grateful that you apparently did not tell your folks too much about me when I started dating your baby sister. You have been a pillar in the family as you have cared for parents, raised two wonderful children, and are now enjoying your grandchildren. As a long time friend I have always admired and often been in awe of your devotion to the students of SNU. Your dedicated service as a teacher, administrator, and advisor has glorified God and been an example for all of us.
Congrats

Congrats on your retirement! Now you have a break from students playing jokes on you in the math offices or even toilet papering your house:) Thanks so much for you willingness to always help your students! Wish I could be there for the reception, but I'm in beautiful Naples, FL teaching math! I hope you enjoy your retirement!
Congratulations

Hi Gary! Thanks for trying to make a mathmetician out of me. It was fun grading papers for you and then my daughter, Rachel, carrying on the tradition. Thank you for your interest and concern in my life even since graduation. It has been a pleasure to keep in touch with you over the years. I wish you a great time in retirement. Enjoy! Cathy Graves

I must add my congratulations to the many which are already registered Gary. Thank you for touching so many lives. Thank you for always having that positive attitude. Thank you for keeping us on task in all those Divisional meetings. Thank you for just being a great friend and colleague for so many years. Those memories shall always remain in a special place. And every once in a while take that wife of yours to Drumright, OK. May God bless you in your next career Gary. I know that career will have nothing to do with furnishing apartments. The ride only gets better my friend. Go with God.
