hi mary!
it was really fun looking at all the photos and reading the kind words of your friends-n-colleagues. the choir performance must've been a hoot but it was hard to understand the words.
i wish you adventures petite and grande and hope to see you on european soil one of these days. you can come in costume if you wish. you'd probably love karneval - think cologne's mardi gras.
happy days, happy trails, happy spring!
xoxo, kendra

Early 2000
I spent many meals with Mary, some our experiments, but many hers. Mary was never afraid to try a new dish out on her friends, and *most* of the time, she wowed us. Congratulations, Mary - Christopher Adams

Mary,
Thanks for your guidance, mentoring, and friendship. Thanks for your unfailing good humor even when times weren't so great.
Best wishes for a long and happy "retirement" filled with all the things that have been waiting until you had time. You can always come help me with lambing: we don't start until next month!
Best wishes,
Carolynn

Hi Mary, A big congratulations to you and my very best wishes for great days ahead in your new adventures! I've always regarded you as one of the very best librarians I've ever had the pleasure of knowing, anywhere. You've made a huge impact in every community you've served, and statewide through your excellent work at the Oregon State Library and for OLA. Your upbeat outlook on life and good humor is sure going to be missed. I wish I could be at EPL today to celebrate your many accomplishments, and wish you well. I wonder if that shop is still there in Ashland that we checked out so long ago after the SOLF meeting? Grin.....

Ah Mary, time at last for respite and relaxation! You have been on the go, girl, for a wee long bit of time. Thank you for your contribution to our profession; thank you for your contribution to my life. I always found it fun to think "I'm the boss of the President of OLA!" Both of us having the honor of being in that role was just one of the many things we got to share. Think of all the meetings, all the ICOB discussions, all the 1-on-1s! Good thing we also share a sense of humor and fun. Of course, you are one of the best when it comes to fun. That is one of the things that made you such a good children's librarian! I'm hoping that once you retire I'll get to see you again. Your sweet and smiling face is one of the things I miss since leaving EPL. I'm sorry I can't be at your party. Only the Olympics could keep me away. Enjoy the attention, enjoy your retirement, and please, please stay in touch. Hugs and love coming your way, Mo
