The last commercial flight flown by William G. Halliday was in May of 1983. Airline pilots are required to retire at the age of 60. Bill always thought that this was an unfair policy. He loved flying and cried at the end of his professional flying career.
Dad's buddy Maestro
December 25, 2004
Dad was adopted by Maestro when he lived next door to us. At first, Dad wouldn't let him in his house. But Maestro was persistent, and eventually won Dad over. For the last two months of Dad's life, Maestro lived with him full time. Maestro came to our house only to be fed. The last thing that Dad said to me as I dropped him off at the airport on his way to Banff was "take care of my dog."
